I'm not trying to change the chain out, BTW, I'm looking for an alternative, perhaps involving another tensioner, in a different place..........perhaps on the upper casing.
It'll have to wait until I've paid my Tax bill UGH ! I just hate to think of having to rip her down is all, I know I'll have to do it. I've just finished ripping a damned Z1300 to pieces, so I'm all done with engines for the mo.

 

I understand your frustration. I have my 900rr since April of 09 and i"m still putting in work. I'm Almost done fixing it. I had a problem with the carbs my self it would not turn on. I couldn't figure it out until I took it to some one n he fix it for me. he told me it was dirty. other problems I took care of it myself cause it is to pricie even to take it to a side mechanic. in your case if it is safe a couple of dollars on the side. the point is be patient and your hurricane will be running good soon.

Yep, big end shells I think but there;ll be a post with my ghastly knocking to keep you guessing before I strip her down, hopefully on Saturday. It wouldn't be fair to the forum to just say... yeah I've got a noise without actually publishing it so keep yer ears pinned back. A fiver and a brace of classy strumpet to the nearest guesser.
