I just joined the forum and unfortunately cannot look at the pictures (I imagine I do not have the rights yet). I too am rebuilding a hurricane. I have a 1990. Hopefully I can see the pictures soon!

only got out to the shed for a short while on sunday .
so i have packed up the shock its off for a rebuild, had a bit of trouble finding
someone to rebuild this showa unit, so will let you know how it goes.
Made a list of the bits i may need, i say may because i have aquired a new(secondhand) relay and connecting rod and have been told it is in really good condition.

so heres the list, i havent put part no`s on as everywhere seems to have their own numbers.

Top shock mount. 1. inner bush,outer bush,dust caps,bolt,dust seals

Relay arm 2. all 3 collars/sleeves, 3 bolts, 3 nuts and the lower shock
mounting bush.
connecting rod 3. collar/sleeve, nut and bolt

i had a look at a couple of places an cmsnl were the cheaper at £114.16 including shipping.
any one that can help with my shopping would be appreciated

I did these at one point too about 1 1/2 ago those bushings are a complete f'ing
bear - I basically drove the center collar and rubber out then carefully cut a groove in
the outer sleeve and collapsed it in on itself and removed - putting a new one in was easier
with a bench vise and some appropriately sized sockets to press the new bushing in.

Here's most of the parts you seek

Did you send that shock to Jaws, Moto Pro or Reactive Suspension ?

If you're going to do it (the spring), I'd do it now, or it'll be one of those things that'll bug you forever and cost more if you get it at a later date.

These days I think of things in terms of tanks of petrol, anything £70 or less, it's just like buying a tank of petrol for the car

spoke to firefox today and he dosent stock that spring and it would take a while to get it, so he has checked my spring and its good, so for now im gonna make do, the good lady has hinted that maybe for christmas and birthday i can get a new shocker, so that would tie in nicely for next time i regrease the rear suspension,

got back out to the shed last night and have rubbed down the swinger ready for its rebuild and painting, then i had a look at the rear calliper, i knew it wasnt working well when i got the bike as the rust on the rear disc was not uniform, when i had a look last night i can see why, one piston was siezed up. i cleaned up both pistons and then used my home made retractor tool (see pic) and pushed them back in, then pupmed them out and cleaned them right off, one piston at a time (using something to hold the other piston in), their working ok now so i can put new pads and pins in when i get the back end in.
