Default Hurricane and F-4 Phantom

Hi There

Just a loony thought[sm=smiley29.gif]

One of my freinds and I is a bit aeroplane crazy, and the other day we discussed which kind of jet fighter our bikes would be... (I know, get a life )

Mine is a F-4 Phantom!!!
Because of the following:

Engine/Exhaust
CBR: Twin exhaust
F-4: Twin engine

Weight
Both:A heavy beast.

Manoeuvrability
Both: Best in a straigt line, not so happy with tight turns.

Topspeed
Both: Can build up massive speed (F-4: Marc 2,27)

Electronics
CBR: No fuel injection
F-4: No fly by wire

Use
CBR: Bombruns on the freeway/Autobahn
F-4: Bombruns over the Ho Chi Mihn Trail (Operation Rolling Thunder, Operation Linerback I & II among others)

Crew
CBR: Pilot and passenger
F-4: Pilot and RIO

Design
Both: Sleek and good looking

Age
Both: Not up there with the modern kit, but still a decent performer

Role
CBR: Sports tourer
F-4: Multi-role fighter

In My eyes
CBR: Awesome bike
F-4: Awesome, no bulljet fighter

Now, what kind of jet fighter would your CBR1000F be?

I know this is silly, but what the hell[8D]

Captain Phantom

Great comparison Noe... I've always like the Phantom!

Second Choice, maybe for the post 1993 CBR would be the F-14 perhaps!

I'm good with the Phantom comparison. Classic style. Set the standard and was very advanced when it first appeared. It's dated now, but it has class and its good looks still attract attention. Just like the Hurricane.

If we were voting on a WWII comparison fighter, mine would go to the P-47 Thunderbolt - aka the JUG!

WWII? Hmm, not the P-47! Too ungainly. I'd think maybe the Spitfire.

I think the 1000RR would be the FW190 .

Spitfire probably better suited to a smaller600 being a smaller more nimble bird. I guess the Jug is an aquired taste, there's a couple people flying them at our club field (R/C) and I quite like them. Perhaps our CBR1K would be more akin to a P-51! Bigger, faster, good endurance and kicks a**!
