How often do you oil your chain?

RE: How often do you oil your chain?
Ilube the sprockets and chain about every 500 to 1000 km's with Castrol chain wax. If it becomes less frequent now and then I don't believe it matters a lot since chains are internally lubed which is the most important. I might be wrong though. A top quality chain and gear set will last about 25000 km for me. At that time the chain begins to bind and the front gear is noticeable worn. Ahigh quality chain should last longer though if perfectly maintained and not abused with power wheelies at full accelerations at every trip. The rear sprocket look almost new at 25000 km but is replaced anyway since the chain is very expensive and may get more life then. I think just replacing the front gear twice as much should be concidered.

I'm pretty religious about lubricating the chain. I do it every 600 miles, give or take. I use Duponts Multipurpose chain lube. I tried many different kinds, but saw this article on WBW and tried it. It's great stuff.

Every 500 to 1000 kms but i have white rims so its very tiresome to keep them clean.
I use spray and sometimes ordinary oil because I dont really trust the spray .
Also I feel a huge difference when I´m tightening the chain. The bike runs much more smoother (motor break - throttle) the tighter the chain is.
I keep mine according to the manual which is very tight.

don't use dish soap. All you'll do is put more water in an area that shouldn't be wet. Use a good chain cleaner. I also don't suggest using a sponge. The chain will eat that stuff up and little bits of it will get stuck in the rollers. Just use a chain cleaner and wipe with a rag.

The best cleaner is kero, but the motorex Chain cleaner in Aerosol really makes life easy.
The best oil that doesnt attract grit is and always will be 90wt gear oil. But is messy and flings. The chain waxes are great and dont fling but they do attract more grit.
