Well, all I gotta say about that is GOD BLESS THE USA!

That's correct. In Denmark the taxes on bikes are absolutely insane ! The state puts VAT on the bikes, thats 25% and another tax, thats 180%, all that of the original price. Denmark has the highest taxes in the world, income tax is approximatly 45%.
So when you think that you pay way to much in taxes, then think of little Denmark where a 10 year old CBR1000F costs 16000 USD...[:@][&:][:'(][]
Just some price examples:
New 2006 models
CBR1000RR: 38000 USD
Ducati 999: 53000 USD
GSXR 1000: 40000 USD
CB500: 11000 USD
Then you can understand how I feel when you guy's are paying 2000 USD for your Hurricanes

Love Sweden, nice coutnry, nice people. I have been doing a lot of shooting in sweden lately.
we have been at war with each other for a million times in the past, got beaten by them a lot them... Great fun
But remember Mikekop and R1000... Sweden has been ruled by a danish queen, never the other way arround
It dosn't matter where we come from, as long we live with full throttle on the CBR, and enjoy all the good in life !

And the beer is cheaper in Germany to compared to Denmark I often go thrue Denmark on trips abroad, after your information about prices for vehicles, its more understanable why there are so many old, small and ugly cars on the roads. If one sees something that looks a little bit more luxury, it's always a newer Skoda originating from former Tjeckoslovakia. Denmark is a small country with quite a lot of people, may be, and I'm serious, the government has to put high vehicle taxes to avoid a road situation like in New Dehli.

No actually I could consider it, if I got a job in Copenhagen, then move to Malmö, then I could afford both an appertment AND a bike :-D

Up to 30 km above limit it cost money, however, not more than SEK 2000 ($ 250). From 30 km/h above speed limit, they take the licence directly for 2 months or more depending on your speed and where it occured. Many Swedish bikers have learned the hard way and just release the trigger when they are supposed to stop for speeding. It all depends on the situation, If you could disappear from the scene kind of pretending that you have not seen them, that might be almost OK, but a full blast escape is really not to recommend if you have a driving licence to care about or the slightest degree of respect for other peoples safety. Quite a few drive without licence, could be on drugs, and also on stolen bikes, they are the really dangerous ones which should be locked in to cool down.

RE: How much was your CBR?
Mines a CBR1000FX 1999
I paid 6,761.84 USD or 3799.00 pounds just over 2 years ago, and think it was worth every penny.
Although I am tempted to ride to Denmark to sell for a profit, walk home and buy 2 more.
Fuel cost is my main complaint when I see what some of you guys pay.
3.45 USD/litre or 15.67 USD/gal. here today, Liverpool UK

Hi from Finland (next to Sweden)
I paid 4400€ last year for my -90 sc24. 58 000km (now 63 800km), 3 Krauser boxes, otherwise all stock. New front breakpads and discs, chain and sprokets, stearing bearings and front fork seal set included (installed) in the deal.

RE: How much was your CBR?
First off, I am so glad that we don't have that insane tax like Sweden does, but damn... those women [sm=Awwww.gif][sm=Awwww.gif]
I paid $3500 for my '96 in near perfect shape. It had the ORIGINAL tires on it when I bought it about a month ago. So... those got replaced right off. I also got a $91 speeding ticket last weekend... So do I need to add those on to the total price? If so, that's about $4,000
