How far off is your speedometer?

RE: How far off is your speedometer?
Very frequently it is worse than that...
That's why people buy the speedohealer - right now if my bike says 114 I know I'm doing at most 100... I'm waiting for the money to buy a healer. It's currently driving up the odometer and making it hard to know what speed I'm really travelling.

I have about the same, i.e. about 10 % missreding, which is not uncommon on any vehicle.
Fortunatly it reads high, but now that I know this, I might tend to go a little faster. 8-\
Maybe that's why I didn't get written up for what my speedo showed, which was higher then the officers LIDAR.

I didn't look up your bike - I will. Hrm - didn't see your cbr on the list.
Some analog dials ( F4 for example ) are electronic behind the scenes... is yours cable driven from the front tire? If not it's probably electronic. The F4 is a sensor on the front spocket - the healer plugs into between the sender and the speedometer. It changes the signal being sent by a correction factor...
If it is cable/gear driven - the other alternative is to have a secondary speedometer such as the sigma.
Sorry - should have paid more attention to the bike you had :-/
