Default Honda cbr1000f key type

Hi all!

I would like to know if anyone knows the oem honda cbr1000f 93 key type. I'm trying to find an oem blank key to make a copy. I found one on ebay, but mine is a little bit longer and i have not sure if it fits.

Thanks,

Albano Martins

I took my key to the local honda dealer here in town. Cost me $10 US.

I think there is an ID on the original key itself that should guide you in the right direction.
According to mr. cycles there is a type 1 or type 2. They look exactly the same in the pics I've seen, tho. One may be left cut and one right.... I'm not sure.
I just took mine to a hardware store, found a similar key, and had it cut. It was like $2. Not an original, but I already have 2 originals.
Check this fiche out, it should help....
It is part #5 (there are 2 different ones) 1993 CBR1000F fiche

I had a few spares made up at my local locksmith. They work fine, only issue is they don't fit into the ignition as snugly as the stock Honda one. I just take the key out and put it in my pocket after I have turned the bike on.

Ilco keyblank #HD75. Got a pair of them made up for a couple of bucks.

Good Luck!
