Default Honda CBR 1000F 87-88 High Protection Windscreen Windshield

Anyone have one of these on their bike?I was attempting to remove the windscreen care instruction sticker that the previous owner left on the bike for 32 years,it didnt come off too gracefully.>I got a little too aggressive with the heat gun and chemicals and i screwed it pretty well exactly where the sticker was.I do have another aftermarket windscreen but its pretty crappy design, doesnt have the perimeter flange molded in like the oem screen, its just flimsy flat plastic.I ordered one of these one ebay, not so sure if i will be happy with the bump in it as well as the damn black trim piece right in my line of sight

I've melted plastic before. With a bit of elbow grease you can sand it back to shape. Start with 800 on a block, stage up P1200 and P2000 (also on a block). Get it really nice and flat before moving on to finer grits or else you'll just make the bumps shiny

Then get either a foam Trizac pad or keep sanding up to P3000. Polish with extra-cut and should be fine. Don't be afraid to go heavy. Since it's a solid material you don't have to worry about burning through the paint - just don't let it get too hot

Ebay, just search 1987 cbr 1000.also the company Ermax has a US distributor..Mine was made in France by Ermax, bought from a vendor in Greece,The main reason I like it is that it has a molded flange around the perimeter similar to the stock item, much more rigid than the flimsy flat ones.Real nice quality. Now im faced with the dilemma of removing the decal from it without making a mess of it.Dont want to put the heat gun near it after waiting almost a month for it to arrive.I emailed the manufacturer in France as to how to remove it properly

A quick search - for the US - turns up essentially the Zero Gravity and MRA screens. I did find the Ermax from a French site. Thanks for the information.

Yes,the zero gravity is the one I bought previously, just flimsy with no molded flange. The MRA screens appear to have the flange but their images are pretty poor.Im happy with the ermax,Havent ridden it yet as the weather is pretty lousy here
