Default HELP Please!

I have a 1993 honda cbr1000f. I dumped it and tweaked the frame. I found a new frame from a 1988 honda cbr1000f not too far away. I'm wondering how everything will fit on this frame. I'm mainly worried about the motor and rear swing arm. I have a welder and can move all the mounting points for the fairings. Anyone with any knowledge would be oh great help.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your stack mate. I'm not sure about the interchangeable frames but I doubt they're the same. How bad is your frame? One of the other guys here ran his into a tree, bent and dented the frame and got it straightened for not too much $$. Might be worth finding somebody with a Motoliner jig or similar and getting a price. It might be easier than moving all the mounting points and then at least you'll know your frame is dead straight. You can never be sure about the straightness of a frame you buy since it might have been stripped for spares after a crash..even a minor one could bend the frame slightly.

Just a though, good luck with it.

Yeah, most of the fairing mounts are different, the tank mounts, the rear plastics, heck the steering stems are different

I'd take Dave's advice.

It was Blue Beard that got his frame straightened , here's a link

Yeah, I wouldn't even mess with the 88 frame. Very different. Try to find a 93+ or fix the one you have if it's fixable.

+1 different frame - buy a 93 or later.
