Help needed!

Hi all,
Been awhile since I posted on the forum.
Those that remember I have an engine of an F in a Locost kit car.
I needed to change the gear linkage as it has become worn out.
Ordered one off eBay which is perfect but I need to remove the pedal from the ball joint and then place onto a separate bracket.
How can I remove the pedal and reuse the pin any ideas how to take apart

Ball joints like that usually just pop out by prying. As the ball is welded on the pedal don`t really see any other option.
That`s a kicka$$ looking ride you got there, I did a track day last summer and those things were the fastest vehicles around the track. One even cracked it`s frame cause it couldn`t handle the hp:s the guy had put in it. Never told us what engine it had, never asked as I was busy getting to teh rtack and he was gone when I got back to the pits.

You don`t need to grind anything. Just take a flathead screwdriver and pry the joint off the ball. The new one should pop on by pressing with a pair of plumber`s pliers. at least that`s how you swap a gear shift link rods to a car and those joints are basically the same only smaller. If you weld the lug onto the arm whilst in the new joint you`ll no noubt fry the nylon insert in it.

I'm 6ft2 and it only ways 450kg so easy
I want to race it soon and you need a reverse.
Most use a starter motor on the prop :-)

I have always referred to it as a ball joint splitter though.
Same tool, different names.
