Default RE: help

Information about Accel and MSD distributors is probably givenon their home pages. I doubt that MSD even have stock like coils for bikes and you can’t use coils that are designed for MSD high-energy ignitions. You really don't need expensive high performance parts though. The coils can either ignite, or not if they have failed, and as long as the bike runs clean there is nothing to gain by putting in fancy coils. High-energy coils are only necessary to overcome the extreme cylinder pressure in turbo or nitrous assisted engines. A stock engine is perfectly happy with standards coils, and usedcoils from just about any4-cylinder non-historicbike will do.

Are you sure both coils are failed? This sounds strange and points more to bad HT wires or some other fault in the ignition system such as the ECU, the wiring or the pulse generator. Have you checked that the primary and secondary coil resistance is out of spec.? The primary resistance should be like2 to 4ohms and the resistance measured between plug wires should be20.000 to 30.000 ohms.
