Don't forget the CBR1000F was the fastest bike in the world before the Hayabusa and the Blackbird were produced. They certainly aren't slow, even by today's standards.!!!!!
I regularly smoke my friend's Ducati 916 off the line, and top end too,
Just a word of advice - read the "being aware" post - there are some good tips on learning how to stay alive on the road. Enjoy your baby - lucky man !

hey:
The zx11 kaw was the worlds fastest bike untill 1997 when the cbr1100xx took over, at least to all the
motorcycle magazines at the time of any good standing. The hurricane is still a very fast vehicle but the stock 165 mph
top speed was not the fastest, nor even 170 mph modded fell short of the stock 175+ kaw zx11. The hurricane won all
its best bike awards for being the best overall bike, good to great at alot of things but not the fastest, quickest, lightest or
most powerful, just the best.

The ZX1100R was a good bike in its day, but I ride with a couple of them still today, and they're no match for my CBR1000F. As you say, maybe not THE fastest, but certainly fast enough for a new 20 year- old to come to grips with..!!
I wish someone'd give ME a 1996 model....lucky guy !
Thanks for the correction.......overall best bike is good enough for me, I've just rebuilt a GPZ900R, which is nowhere close to my bike's performance, but then I'm biased..........
