Default haynes manual discrepancy

well, i was leafing through the haynes manual for the valve lash adjustment.. .. it said it was .004" for exhaust and intake valves in the engine rebuild chapter, and then I looked in the tuneup chapter and it said .004 for intake and .006 for exhaust... which I'm somewhat more likely to believe... which is right???...

I plan on doing my valve lash adjustment next weekend to see what knock is at startup ... I'm thinking it's the CCT like always but it won't hurt to look at the valves anyhow and eliminate that

According to Honda Factory Service Manual:-

Exhaust 0.007 +/- 0.001 Inch

These are with cold engine.

According to Honda Factory Service Manual:-
Inlet 0.004 +/- 0.001 Inch
Exhaust 0.007 +/- 0.001 Inch
These are with cold engine.
My Honda Factory Service Manual under the Maintenance Chapter page 3-8 says:

In: 0.10 +/- 0.02mm (0.004 +/- 0.001 in)

Ex: 0.16 +/- 0.02 mm (0.006 +/- 0.001 in)

These standards are for the CBR 1000F Hurricane '87-'88 and are set to comply with the United States EPA and California Air Resources Board.
Maybe there is a difference between Australian, USA and Canadian models due to comply with the country emissions.

yup, that's what the haynes says.. when i noticed the discrepancy, , I didn't check the metric units, the metric units are correct in both chapters, but the imperial exhaust valve lash is .004" in one chapter and .006 in the other... I heard it's better to be slightly on the loose side (.007ex, .005 int) rather than the tight side... you think that might have something to do wtih the lack of power I'm experiencing??

oh, what's the pitch of the threads on the adjuster nuts? is there a way todo the lash by snugging the adjuster and going back lets say 1/2 turn? I remember it was possible on my old CT70
