I wish all my bikes had centerstands. When you're out on a trip, it's nice to be able to spin the wheel to clean/lube your chain or change a tire, etc.
A lot of people put aftermarket ones on the KLRs. It's either that or you have to lay the bike on it's side to change a tube/tire.... lol.

I also lube (that's wax) the inside of the chain while it is up on the stand running in 1st gear.
Watch your fingers, man. (or loose clothes, etc)
Did you see the pics of that gixxer cat who mangled himself? OMG....what a mess. Whole hand right through the sprocket. Ugly chit, man.

+1!!! There's also the risk of it coming off the stand with a small bump and going into the missus car or something. I lube my chain straight after a ride and find just spinning the wheel by hand fast enough. I haven't seen the pics but can imagine.

Those pix made my nuts jump. And Trout just made it happen again.

Go ahead. I know you are thinking about it.

That's why I use that little red tube that comes with the can. I use a piece of cardboard behind the chain to pick up any extra spray. There is no chance of the bike coming off the center stand, even if it did the bike would most likely stall or just roll over on it's side.

I was talking with a guy who was missing a finger. He told me that he was cleaning his bike after lubing it with a rag and bike running in gear. HOLY CHOP SUEY Batman! What a nitwit.

I'm keeping mine. I think to save weight I would have to remove a lot more than the center stand. These bikes are just plain heavy!! Not much heavier than my FZ1, but sure feels a lot heavier! It's just too valuable to remove.

Ha! I think you may have made a decimal point error. Try moving it 2 places to the left.

Yep, that's it.

I could believe 12.7 lbs. But the weight is really low, so it sure couldn't matter much in handling.
