I have an opportunity to get a 1000 hurricane for 700 bucks. Only catch is it doesnt run, the guy says he just had a friend of his put the engine back together, then the guy took it up and down the street and it just died. The guy who repaired it thinks its carb related.....? Any input would be much appreciated.

 

What year is it?

How does it look, etc?

 

its an 87, im assuming the fairings are removed as the bike was just put back together last week. Im going to look at it on friday. But i'm thinking if it still turns over it should be an alright deal. This is 700 canadian by the way.......not that it really matters because out dollar is pretty much par at the moment...........But everything is still cheaper in the US!

I have had mine for over a couple months 25K miles.Brakes/chain/tires/axel bearings my engine and drivetrain work good. I use as everyday driver. Did 1200 mile trip good crusier.

 

ya i have my 600 cane sitting in the garage, just waiting for warmer weather to paint the fairings, but id like to have a 1000 just to play with, and for 700, if i get it running i could make a profit I figure, depending on how extensive the problems are.

 

A 600 Hurricane ? Surely not.....? I haven't seen one of those in years ! Good bike tho' !
