Default Givi trunk kit

Does anyone here use that kit? I'm about to order one, and am looking for feedback. I don't want to go with the whole Wingrack 3-bag thing, just the trunk. I've seen such a kit available, so I figured soemone here might be using it.

Alternately, is there any sort of rear luggage rack/shelf type thing available for our bikes? If I had any sort of rear rack I could put a Givi universal mount plate on it and achieve the same thing.

Thoughts? Oh, my bike is a 94. Thanks!

EDIT: I did a better search and found info...but there is no option to delete. So while we're here...

Is the Renntech rack big enough to fit the Givi trunk mount plate on it?

This is a Nonfango unit, with just the box mounted. Two more bolts either side and you have the full set.
I think it looks a lot neater than the Givi unit which is bulky IMO
(Nonfango's are plentifull in the UK and cheaper than Givi by quite a bit !)

You can fit a Renntech rack on the back, but they aren't that strong when you add the weight of a hardbox (mine weighs 3 KG's)

I wouldn't run it at speed.

The Givi kit for just the top box is F227. If you search on 'GIVI F227' you can find them.

That Nonfango kit that Shadow has looks great and you can opt for more bags later also. My Givi 3-bag setup is flugly without the side bags or no bags.

Sometimes a new Givi monokey top box system comes up on e-bay from time to time (offered by Midwest Cycle). I think the kit comes with the Givi E45NJ bag for around $225 USD buy it now price.

Thanks for that. I've actually emailed back-and-forth with the Midwest guy. It's $140 fo rthe mount kit and $225 for maxia 52 box (I know that smaller one is alot less, so that $225 makes sense).

Also, thanks for the info oboe re: the Renntec rack..I see your point. I think I'm gonna order up the F227 and then watch Ebay for a case.

Thanks guys!

Wow...have you guys seen this? I didn't know they'd come out with a 55L model. You can even get remote keyless entry! lol...

WOW! 55L.....I would not have to take a tent with me while camping, I could just climb into the damn thing. I think I would have to go with the keyless entry in case I actual did get locked inside. HA..HA...HAAAAAAAAAA.

What ever to choose, you may want to get some optional helmet locks. I cannot access my factory lock with the wing rack. I installed the Helmet Guardian long before I went with Givi however.

Thee are other choices here.

They do stick out to far for my liking so I cut mine down.

Also, with the wing rack you can't use your factory flashers. I went to the bike shop and picked up after market units.
