The bike will go all day and night, your body won't. As the guys said, depends on the ride and your endurance. Sprock, TimBuc and I did some 700+ mile days but the norm is more like 3-400/day. Take breaks and stretch. Get your core strong. It helps a lot.

I did a 750 mile overnight and swore I'd never do that again.
First 200 were great but by the end of the first day my inner thighs were cramping and I had to stop after every 50 miles.
The return trip was better because I took more breaks. Age makes wisdom?

Uh huh and remember the PEI to Waterville Maine run - that was a blast
pretty much a solid 9 hours 'cept for gas and a photo + stretch here and
there

Ah fond memories - we should plan an outing soon Jimbo.

IMO - you kind of condition yourself into it when you do a good long trip
Day one you start out easy then progress on up to full day riding

Tell ya though there were some noisy snoring m'fers on that trip - and not
all because of being tired from riding - blame the Screech thief !

Before I hit 50 I road from CT to Mansfield OH, Mid-Ohio race track in 9 hours. I did have a Corbin Gun Fighter seat to make it bearable. Yes, I was able to party with the boys that night, so not that much pain.

If you leave the Screech out the wildlife will get into it. Sorry about your luck pal.

That's the best advice. Before a long ride I'm in the the saddle a bunch. I'm 58 and have been thinking about a coast to coast ride.

Thumbs up 336 miles today

Just done a 336 mile round trip with a mix of motorway, A road and welsh country roads easy enough. Heather did the same on a CBR600F today and it was her first long ride on a big bike. She is knackered but it was a big learning curve for her so thats to be expected.

Im not sure if i have any room to talk, you know, being 19 and all... but i can kill hours, and spend some money in gas, in one day. I ride mine so much im afraid i will wear it out before its time. Also bought the bike originally to save some gas money, but i burn what i save getting lost on back roads or burning up some straights.

Four hours will be fine on that bike. You might want to take the back roads to Lake George and make it an even longer ride. As a couple of people said, just stop and stretch your legs every once in a while, because it's your butt and legs that will decide how long is too long. One helpful hint; if you stop after your butt hurts you stopped too late.

FYI, I bought mine new in 1988, I've ridden it from NY to California and back again, taken long (multi-hour) daily commutes on it, and I'll usually stop to stretch my legs after 2 or so hours. The seat, handlbars, and peg positions are still stock.
