When I was a the wreaker today, the guy said he could get new GearSack univiersal Racks with fittings but no bagfor AU$150
Are these any good?

You can get them second hand much cheaper.

I dont like where they place the weight. I have one but rarely use it. Prefer to use saddlebad or tialbag and tankbag combo for better weight distribution

I have a gearsack & if I'm riding solo I always put the bag on backwards. That is the bag on the pillion seat. That way it limits the effect of carrying the extra weight. I also always strap it down too. Stops it moving around or falling off on rough roads or at high speed. The empty rack often comes in handy for carrying other stuff as well. Search some of the wreackers & smaller accessory shops & chances are you'll come across a good deal somewhere. Happy hunting.
