Default Fuel reserve issue....

Hey everyone I'm a new 1995 CBR1000F owner I bought it off craigslist for $2500 it had 16,000 original miles and it's in pretty good condition the previous owner and put a vance and hines exhaust on it as well as painting it all flat black. It also has a 180 rear tire I dont know if that's normal. However I just seen that there was some gas right under the center of the bike today so I took all the fairings and the seat off and found out that the leak was coming from the fuel reserve switch. It isn't a horrible leak just makes my garage smell of gas really bad. When i put pressure in the switch it starts to leak pretty bad though I wasnt sure if there was a gasket there or not I couldnt see how I would be able to disassemble it if you guys have any tips or suggestions I would really appreciate any input. I've been reading through the forum for the last week and there is a wealth of information that I hope to use on a regular basis. Here is a picture of my 2008 ninja 250 and my 1995 CBR1000F....Thanks....

Haha yeah....It looks pretty good in person. The right fairing has some issues though from an old lady knocking it over in a parking lot....

Check the petcock breakdown on www.mrcycles.com.
Should show you what you need

Maybe the petcock gasket replacements etc -

Shadow-It looks like I would have to order the whole petcock assembly, that would prolly be for the best anyways but I was wondering is there a way to remove the fuel reserve or block it off so I only have fuel in my tank and that's it. I don't ever do really long distance driving so I don't really need the reserve.

Kit for petcock.

Blocking off your reserve isn't wise. When your main supply runs out, you walk - not good..........

Nice looking bike , looks good in the stealth fighter black , radar reflective paint .
Good for the speed traps

I think it looks better without the stickers in that colour , mystery bike!

Shame your not in the uk as I have a complete tank and working petcock. I would gladly take the petcock out and let you have it. Trouble is the postage to your country would be silly money. Good luck though anyway
