fuel gauge

Default fuel gauge

feul gauge on my bike is not working,anything to test to find out why?
1992 cbr1000f

start with wiring under the tank

I wouldn't be to concerned if it doesn't work but. They are the most inaccurate fuel gauge I've ever encountered on any bike I've ever owned. Mine gets to 1/4 and then just goes to empty...lol. I go off the odometer when I need to fill her up.

i always use the cutout/reserve method. when she starts sputtering and losing power i switch to the reserve and head for the nearest fuel station. don't forget to switch back to normal afterwards or the next time can be a long walk

There's something electrical wrong with mine also. Sometimes it will show full when I know I'm getting close to empty. I just reset my tripometer when I fill up and use it as a gauge.

Mine too, it is very predictable.

Sounds like if you fill up before 1/4 you are doing fine.LOL
