Fuel Ecomomy
I am interested to know what sought of fuel economy I should be getting for my '93 'cane.
Usually, I get between 37-39 MPG (US). On the highway is the only time I get the 39 MPG. I usually keep revs at about 5000rpm.
Is this what I should be getting? What are others getting?
Cheers

MPG can vary from about 25-50 mpg depending on where and how you ride. Constant 55mph on the highway you might see 50mpg but be careful not to fall asleep
Not wanting to offend, but if you're that keen on miles per gallon and you're not going over 5000rpm you might be better off looking for a 500cc bike

Sheesh . my old girl eats the stuff the moment I even look at the throttle !!!!
To pull 50mpg .... you would have to be parked !! LOLOL
I think that if you are very careful and solo?(no passenger) and keep the throttle dead still !! , you might ?? be assured of 45 mpg most of the time ...

Hey Steve, If you install a hook and rope on the front, you could hook onto one of those trailers, your mileage will go right up then
Yeah, best I've ever seen is about 38mpg, in the real world I get 28ish but that's all twisties with liberal use of the throttle
Hey Flipper, I guess you're located in the U.S. You guy's have a smaller gallon over there I think so your MPG is actually pretty good, with imperial gallons you're maybe getting low 40's, which is the best you can hope for realistically. Also shows everything is working Ticketty Boo.

They're dangerous enough as it is! You ever get too close behind one on an uphill section? I've only done it in the ute, but it makes a hellova mess
