Default Front brake swap

Has anyone done a front brake conversion on a hurricane? I need new front rotors and was wondering if I could use a rr or some other better cbr brake system. If it would bolt right up. I couldn't find any info on this site or the web so, I was just wondering what you guys had to say. My Hurricane is a '87.

Brake rotors for all the years are the same, I think.
Nothing bolts straight on as far as I know, you'd have to replace the front forks to even fit the 93 brakes....[X(]
Check the manuals to see what'll fit.........

You can check the 98 brakes, but I don't think they'll fit.
You could also look at www.mrcycles.com, and look at the exploded parts views for all bikes, all makes and models, and see what works.........
Good luck - you may have to find a front end with 42mm fork tubes, and the correct steering head size, and fit the whole thing.......
Lots of expensive and time-consuming work.[X(]

Wow that is a lot of work. I don't want to do all that. I was just looking for a simple change out. Thanks for the links I'll check into it a little further.

The fast-and-not-terribly-expensive way to swap out the brakes is to put an entirely different front end on the bike. I'm looking for an FZ1 front end myself to do this...not so much because I want to swap the brakes, but because I want an externally-adjustable front end...but the brakes will be a good side benefit.

Shadow, this is an old post - BUT - you mention that the rotors for the front should be interchangeable for all years? I have a 91 I am rebuilding and I have only found new rotors for a 1993 onwards??? Any advice?
