Default Forks...

Hi having problems with leaking fork seals. Having replaced them several times I'm resigned to the fact that they are pitted and need replacing. Are they the same throughout the range or age/model specific. Mine is an '88 f-j.

Pitted? Or dinged by a rock? My CB650 went through a few seals before I found a minuscule ding and gently went over it with very fine grit emery cloth. Never leaked again.

The little dings in life like that can be made good and "buffed out" DRam, just have
to be careful eh? I did just the same thing with my 87.

You can upgrade the springs and spacers to make the forks ride a little higher in the
less pitted area too as a quick workaround, and drop the yokes to compensate if too
tall.
