Mounting the new ones or seeing the ones you have mounted if corectly fitted you still have to take the forksoff the bike. Take a look first at the one that is leaking. If its mounted the other way arround just switch it and youl have the new set as spares... you'll never know when they will be handy. One more thing when mounting seals make sure that the fork tubes and seal are well coated with oil. Don't mount them dry. Seals can have oil on both sides (fork tube and lowerleg sides). Also you woresaying that you use a pvc tube to fit them into place, if needed use a big washer berween the pvc and the seal so youhave a big surface of contact when pressing the sealin.

Moto_Fan,

Thanks again. You know what? While I still lived in Japan, the little motorcycle shop's owner in my home town was just like you. He shared everything he knows with the customer. He didn't care sometimes he lost his business in that way. But, his shop was always filled with real motorcycle freaks. I hope he still lives. We don't see that kind of motorcycle shop any more...

In my opinion no matter if you're the seller/ mechanick or customer, we all share the same great hoby.... motorcycles. I always belive that a good deed always turns back to you sooner or later. I also think that I'm the only mechanick related with HD's but likes more and owns a Honda

I received a new set of oil seal from LeakProof yesterday, and installed it. The LeakProof oil seal has totally different concept from the original equipment. I have never used LeakProof before, but their rubber wiping back the fluid (sort of ) concept is very interesting. The ordinary oil seals we know are little metal spring band ties up rubber part and seals. For LeakProof, actually the rubber part doesn't have any spring band, also the rubber seal swings between two metal washers. I had about 50 miles ride yesterday, there is no leak at all.
LeakProof is about $5 more than ordinary seals,. but I love em. [/align]
