found some good graphics on ebay...asked about size...also the seat I have is a corbin...the stock cover wont work...will have to be custom done...thanks though...I talked to corbin and they said about $275 to recover the seat...I think thats a bit steep for a one year warranty on the cover...Im looking into local places...some quoted a friend with a 600 a recover for like $80...will have to see.

does anyone know if the backrest on my seat is detachable? It would be nice to be able to take it off...havent had a passenger yet, but if its not comfortable for them....then I want it off...but its damn comfortable for me when its down...really holds me in the seat well.
yeah 275$ is almost half of what I have in the bike, lol...too much really....any thoughts about what type of material I might want to look into? something that will last, stretch, but not deform, breathe and help keep water out? its a closed cell foam so there isnt much water there after it rains, but every little bit would help I assume.
thanks for the though dragon...I will check on that...very nice bike by the way...by far...my favorite color scheme.

Seat covering
Hey Red,
I just had my two piece BMW R1100RS seat recovered. Went to a one person business who was glad to get the business. He does auto seats and motorcycle seats. He had a stretchy vinyl covering. I asked him about leather and he said that leather demands a lot more attention to the covering and the leather conditioner will make the seat more slippery. Also, until the conditioner dries, you are on the couch in the house! Vinyl was half the price, was done in a day, and comes in almost any color you desire. Cost = $100 for both seats. The extra cost (normally $80) was for the extra temper foam added. The seat is holding up great so I have no complaints about the vinyl instead of leather....
P.S. The cons of vinyl, according to him, is leaving the bike out in the weather. Heat makes vinyl harden, fade and crack. Since my bikes are stored in my garage, that was not a concern to me. If they are not in the garage, my **** is on them so still not a concern....
