Howie,
Good you're alright. Good you're still here, and talking about it.
We all live in fear...... and so we should.
Get healed soon, get riding your (or a new one) CBR v soon.

Well folks, my CBR is still at the menders.
The Bandit 650 was OK but no wind protection at all, and not really enough poke. I mean, 12mph per 1,000 rpm is not a real bike is it?
Also the neutral lamp didn't always work. I mentioned this to BLD, the supplier, who said they'd change it, so I asked for a CBF1000F.
They delivered the CBF a day or two later. Impressive service.
I must say I'm impressed with the bike too. I first rode her on Monday, gently to the petrol station to fill her up, then on to the on-ramp to the A3. I gave her a quick flick of the throttle and was nearly thrown off the back. The acceleration surprised me. Maybe quicker than a 21-year-old CBR, but the upright riding position was probably to blame.
That's the only issue I have with the bike, I feel I'm sitting too upright. The suspension feels a little hard (that can probably be adjusted). Oh, and it's in a disgusting gold colour.
In this weather I also miss the heated grips.
As for my CBR, I'm sure she'll be written off due to her age, but as long as it's only fairing damage I'll try to get her back.

I'd like to see a picture. I've never seen a CBF1000F.

Glad you're here to share the story. Seems like you'll still be having fun on two wheels.
