Fairings
Anyone seen a good looking street fairing for the 1000f? Want something fresh, modern, custom, to bring the bike up to date (and then some). Happy to do some fabrication. Don't want to pay the earth and needs to arrive here in the UK safe and sound. Looking for a tip from someone who has bought one, or knows someone who has...want to find a reliable source! Photo's or links appreciated.

RE: Fairings
Fairing for these ride are hard to find as you would know..
Ebay has some bit and parts, but as you said, they seem mostly to be OS and shipping cost can be a bugger for bulky items ..[:-]
I have looked for manufacturers that might do after market one's , but are yet to find one ..
As you also would know , most after market fairing suppliers seem to only do the later model rides , which really sucks ..
If you locate anything .... yer let everyone know ... please !!!!

I was thinking the other night about the lack of spares for these older rides and ...
I tell you what ... looking at the prices for good running CBR1000F's over in england , I think that a one over their costing only 800 - 1000 pounds would be good to ship to here part out ??
Get a few of them together , maybee 4-5 ..ship them in one go and then part them off ...?
Or sell the buggers here ?
We cannot buy a good CBR 1990 for under a min of $4000 AUD ? most are around the $4500 ish ...
Sound like someone should think about it ???

If I see anything, I will let you know, only prob. is that our bikes are a bit different
The only spare pieces I have is a hand rail & some mirror bits.
I am keen on replacing my mirrors as the rubber boots never fit, even on the new aftermaket one I have (A$55, I think it cost me)
Can you get mirrors bracket extentions, then I can move the mirror a little forward and make the boot fit properly, maybe?

RE: Fairings
Actually, one of the posts I have meaning to get round to doing was...
I am considering buying a CBR1000f 90-91 with the intention of parting it out over winter.
Cash flow is quite tight for me (Single guy just bought a house - eeek!) and the intention would be to help fund keeping my bike rather than making a living out of it, and yes I would ship around the world at cost (Dont want to make money on postage)
Do you think it is viable ? IE would I get my money back?
