Default EXTENDED SWINGARM

So I'm probably going to be putting in a custom turbo setup, along with a big bore, and swap out as much steel for aluminum as i can this winter. The engine when its all said and done will put out over 220 hp. So I am also looking at going with a longer swingarm and hopefully a wider rear wheel. Does anyone know if any newer 1000rr swingarms will fit on a 93 cbr1000? I ask this because they are lighter/stronger and have extensions that are easy to put on. I think it would be awesome to have a mean looking drag bike that is street legal...have some kid on his 600 get blown away

The idea of 220bhp sounds awesome. The swing arm that you are about to extend, now that could be a bit tricky, but if you have a hunt through previous threads on this forum there should be something that might be of use. I seem to remember that there was a discussion about using a swingarm from a 750 which would give you a wider wheel but you would have to extend it youself with a bit of cutting and welding to the length that you want.

Hey i'm sure everyone would like to hear how you get on with this - sounds groovy :-)

I saw a video a while back of Jay Leno on his turbine powered bike (he's a vehicle nutter). I could not find the video but you get the idea from this link - now that is what you call a long wheelbase!

Do a search on Ebay. I saw a Extended swingarm for a CBR1000f on there yesterday.

I too saw that extended swing arm on ebay. It's chrome. Pretty expensive though... I think the buy it now option was $1000 U.S. dollars. But if you look at the auction it has the contact info for the place that made it. So if you don't need one now you can see how much it would be to make one later in the build up.?.

Your project sounds awsome, good luck with it!!! You might want to look at some of the 'streetfighter' sights, those guys are very good with the mods, i check out the site listed below in Oz, some of the guys there do some amazing stuff, might be worth your while. Post some pics and details as you progress when you have time...
