Default Engine oil - UK recomendations?

After reading THIS thread about oils I didn't seem to be that clearer about what to go for. I know Honda recommend a 4 stroke 10w-40 SE, SF or SG rated, but a lot of people have said to go down the semi synthetic route. A close friend recommended, Rock Oil - Guardian 10w-40 semi.
I'd be happy to hear what the rest of you guys actually use ?.

I use motul 10w50 semmi synth love it

I use Shell Rotella T synthetic 15W-40 DIESEL OIL !!!
One third the price and twice as good.......

Yep I use the good ole Diesel as well.

But we cant reccomend oils as they are different from Country to Country.

I.E Over here Rotella is a completely different blend to the USA etc.

I used Silicone 15W-50 on my CBR, and it worked nicely!

Use Rock Oil - Guardian 10w-40 semi myself, does the job. Any quality bike semi is ok.

So Shadow did you see a difference noise wise, , i changed my tensionner the guy whom previously had the bike repplaced the chain but kept the tensionner, did that this weekend and also ajusted my valves, sounds good, i put 2ow50, cause it was the only oil i could get on sunday ( dealers were closed) so at start do you still hear you cam? mine is making noise fioor about 15 second the pressure buils upp and no sound. let me know about the diesel oil.
