Default Engine cleaning

What do you guys use to clean your engines? Are the made of aluminum? Would an aluminum cleaning acid work to clean it up a little?

Yeah engine is aluminium.

Acid may be a bit harsh for cleaning though.

What im thinking is a watered down version of alumibrite... it's not a rough "eat through" type of cleaner...

I would not use the product you mentioned. Bike engines have a clear coating on them and it may remove it.

I use engine de-greaser form any auto parts store. Spray it on and hose it off. High pressure is best. Find an old paint brush and rub the areas with the most crap. If you have to repeat the process again. I like GUNK.

Yep, I would do something similar if I ever cleaned my engine. LOL..
Simple Green works good for everything, though. I use it on other greasy aluminum parts and it works great.

No, you then wrap it in Gladwrap and you can just "whisk that dirt away"

Kerri, please confirm.
