Dead as a Dodo
Hi Guys,
Only just got around to putting the bike back together after doing some winter maintenance (valve clearance). I know I'm a lazy sod, but time's been tight.
Also had to replace the starter solenoid as I noticed it had been over-heating and had partially melted (details here) https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-1000f...n-fuse-150568/
Now in my haste to replace the solenoid I inadvertently ordered the one for the MK3 bike
, also it's a used one so may be a duffer
Question is, when I turn the key in the ignition, I get nothing, no lights on the dash absolute zilch. It seems logical to me, because the positive battery terminal is connected through it, but before I race out and buy a new solenoid, is this total lack of juice typical of a bad solenoid, or should I at least get some dash lights?
I have checked all the plug connections that I can find, replaced the 30 amp fuse, all connections were clean and bright before assembly, the battery is good with a full charge, anything I'm missing?

You are a lazy sod (but in all fairness you did the requisite disclosure) so I have to say
that your soddyness is exemplary having said that, now it does sound like a Duff-er
which in my opinion would cause the flux capacitor issues you are currently experiencing
