Default Cowling Project is going on!!

I posted and was asking about plastic welding. As my low low budget, I found the stuff called "Bumper Repair Kit" that you can buy else where. It comes with ABS fiber cloth. I had been thinking what is the material of our bike's cowling similar to. Cars' bumper is of course much thicker than bikes' cowling, but the material is same. I grabed the "Bumper Repair Kit", cost me about $6.00 at Wal-Mart. I used 2 of this. I attached the some links for the pictures of the progress. It bonds so well. If you are thinking cowling repair with the limited budget, I recommend this way. I wrote this in the different thread, but this epoxy based stuff has flexibility even after harden completely. Just like original maerial of bike cowling. Also it doesn't stick on any other material like metal, acrylic,hi-densed hard plactic, vinyl, or glass.

mdfirefighter and grwilson6,

Thanks for your comments! I leraned more than prices' issue for the plastic parts for our bikes, those are almost out of stock... JC Whitney has after market plastice parts, but those are mostly for Suzuki GSX-R. I hope some company may start making after market cowling kits for more varieties of models. Here is the link for updated picture. Now, I start thinking about coloring scheme. Any recommendation? or helpful links?

Those are tough (color choices). I picked mine becuase I love black and silver. The scheme came to me (it sounds cheezey) in a nap I was taking. Its not complicated and I could do it myself so it fits. It really ends up being what you like and what you can do (if you do it yourself). I was lucky and had a HVLP gun at my disposal so I can shoot real auto colors and clears mixing up the color, hardner, reducer and what not. One HUGE tip is keep everything SUPER clean if you shoot it yourself. Dust can be a bit$%.

It has been so cold here in North Carolina, US. I finally started painting my bike. It is still in progress, and here is the picture.
