Coolant Flush 101
Ok, Yes I have read a few posts here that say I'm gonna do a flush with blah blah blah. But I have never done one before and I'm looking for a step by step, like a "How to".
Thanks for your help,
Matt

There are a few ways to do it ....just depends on how fussy you are really
I just park her somewhere where the old coolant is not going to cause a mess when flushed , remove the Rad cap ,then disconnect the supply to the water pump (bottom) to drain most of the engine and radiator, then run some clean water through the Rad to flush any chit out of the radiator and out the bottom pump supply hose while it is disconnected ...
Re connect the pump supply , then disconnect the return to the radiator at the Rad (top) (shown in the pic ) .. then run water into the Rad for a while to flush any chit out of the engine via the disconnected return ..
Once you have done all of that , reconnect the top return line to the radiator and disconnect the lower supply to the pump once more to empty the system once again ... then reconnect the supply line to the pump and all should be then ready to refil as per the manual ...
As I said , the guys prolly have there own ways to do this , but this is just what what I do ...
hope this helps you a bit mate ...

I used the Haynes manual. Opened it up to the cooling system draining, placed it four feet from the left side of the engine, removed the lower bolt of the water pump (see Classic's diagram), as per the manual, and the engine coolant sprayed out all over my spotless Haynes manual. The manual says to set a container UNDER the water pump. How was I to know it would shoot out.
LOL... Sorry slowpoke, that's hilarious..
I've covered my manuals in all sorts of fluids, too. Gives 'em character...
Steve, that sounds like a pretty good method. I think I'm gonna try it!
