The guy I bought my Stratoliner from installed HID in the low beam. So far no one has flashed me as if they were highs. I followed a State Trooper for a while last night also. Maybe the guy on the 10r had his highs on. I do like the HID now. I put a xenon bulb in the high beam and it still looks yellowish compared to the HID white (wider) glow.

That could be. I can't remember now if they were both on or not.

By the way, how does the white/blue light of HIDs compare to the yellow when riding in the rain at night? I always wondered because I know Dave was complaining about the silverstars in the rain, and I've had the same experience in my car with blue/white halogens. I changed back to the more standard yellow bulb in my civic because the glare drove me crazy.

By the way, I was just reading an article on HIDs. I didn't realize that the bluer/white light they throw actually tricks your eyes into not closing your pupils as much. This is why it "hurts" your eyes more. It's not only throwing a lot more light, but your eyes don't process it as well as yellows. I never knew that....

the HID light output cuts right through rain and fog. if you want some actual yellow bulbs youd shoot for a 3000K temperature rating, which would do phenomenal in the rain/fog.

BEWARE THE TITANIUM HAMMER

Hey good debate here on the HID stuff tho !

Think the thing to do if you are going ***** to the wall on a Perfect HID
setup is maybe to gut and mod a second 1000F lamp housing using
projection lamp unit(s) from smaller late model cars

EDIT : come to find out INFINITY FX45 projector (s) are tipped elsewhere
as a very viable retrofit for a good few head lamp housings with some
custom work for ajustable mounts and a "covering" shroud around the
projection lense and base !

..............kinda like in this UTUBE Vid
Making a clear lense to replace the 1000F one might be the toughest part

UTube Vid

S'what I'm thinking anyhow
