Chainguard
Hopefully here is a pic of a chainguard I ordered from Germany to replace the plastic one that had worjk through with the 180/55 tyre on. Might not be tho, cos every time I try a pic it simply will not display BAHHH!
Anyway here goes:
Apols for the durty bike (If the damned things visible) we had just done our 2500 mile tour....

Hi,
A 180/55 will work fine, but as I say, for me the chainguard wore through. You can bend the small posts that the guard mounts to if you find it does rub, but I decided on the stainless one. You MAY find the bike a little slower to "fall into" a corner, but its hardly noticeable to me....
The 180's are definately easier to find where I live, and there is much more choice too...

+1 Ara, everyone's using 180's now as the 170's are hard to find (especially here) and a LOT more expensive. Don't go bigger than 180, Amac, or your handling will suffer - see earlier posts on this one.
Nice mod, how difficult will be to have it looking great, I mean, the plastic ones barely always look clean, now I guess you must use stainless stell or aluminum for those, what material should be better to use?

Hi,
This is an "off the shelf item" available from a German supplier you can find on good 'ol EBAY! I think it cost in total about forty quid ish. I will try to add the link directly to it later. When I clean the bike this weekend, I will take a better pic so you can make your mind up on it.
