Chain & Sprocket Recommendations.
Hola my fellow 1000F buddies..
Im trying to change the chain and sprocket(s) on my bike I have been browsing the forums and been reading about going up/down on sprocket sizes, and I have been taking that in consideration. but wondering about what is a good chain brand, and where to purchase it?
I have found this chain & sprocket set on ebay, but scared of buying junk.

Also was looking at wemoto.com,
http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Honda/CB...ocket_Kit_DID/
I know this topic has been brought up a lot and im sorry for doing it again, but trying to to get the most bang for my buck. (and be honest, this part of our forum needs some fresh topics coming up, a little dead in here!! hehe)
Of course im not racing the bike, or trying to get this beast on one wheel. I just want a cheap(er) reliable chain. any recommendations and where to get one at a reasonable price would be great.
Also curious on how u guys talk about changing sprocket sizes how do I go about finding one, as well?

I'd be very wary of the ebay sets just because they are no-name and you don't really save that much money over a name brand set.
As far as the wemoto set, I don't like the fact that it's in the UK and it doesn't give an actual description of what the heck you're getting (unless I missed it).
There are several places to get stuff in the USA.
Sprocket Center, Motorcycle Superstore, etc etc.
I would definitely go with steel sprockets. I just bought some made by JT last week. As far as chains, I'd go with DID, RK, or EK.

Just stick to one of the good brands as above and you can't go wrong. However, there's some bloody expensive chains out there with 'x' ring, 'z' rings and all sorts of pretty coloured links etc. I think a good heavy duty 'o' ring is quite sufficient for general road use if you keep them well lubed, and way cheaper than all the fancy stuff. I've stuck with std 17/42
I've tried going down on the front - more power but less economy, and of course more wear on moving bits
But I will say this - with chains especially you get what you pay for..................buy the best you can afford.

Curious on what size sprockets you went with?
Not a huge difference, really... a couple hundred RPMs higher when cruising around 70mph. You will get a little more torque off the line, and a little bit lower top speed.
thanks for the input guys.
I ended up and taking a leap and ordered the chain from sprocketcenter (thx killgoretrout) and stuck with the 'stock 17/42' teeth. Shadow mentioned fuel consumption, and since this is my commuter it is important to me.
here is the one I picked up.
