casinobelagio,

I feel I must apologise (on behalf of SPROCK) for the blatant hijacking of this thread. He's nothing but a lobster eating at the best of times and should know better.

Sprock,

Here's too a happy holiday!

Talking Painfull Waxing experience!!!

WELL......

Afte giving advice on here I have had an "Incident"

On Friday night I washed my bike outside on driveway and gave her a good waxing.

It started to rain - just a few drops - so I decided to pop her in the garage.

When I tried to lift her up onto the centerstand my foot (Being wet from washing of the bike) slipped of at exactly the same time as my waxy hands slipped off.

She was lay on her side for about 10 seconds before I even knew what was happening, luckily only the mirror was smashed, but I couldn't get a replacement before the ride out to the museum on Saturday, so I had to "'fess up".

I believe Bugkiller has a photo of me and the said mirror lol

Moral of the story - If you Wax and ride - you're a bloody idiot

Sorry to hear about your incident, that happened to me with my old bike
a few years ago.I had washed it,then wanted to move it and because
my running shoes were wet it slipped and fell, fortunately I was still able
to hold the bike with my hand so it was a slow fall down for the bike and no damage,
but sure was hard to get her back up,and boy did I panic, thanks for sharing that
story,lucky it was only a mirror.Ride safe.......

Good on you for sharing Harry! I once dropped mine in the shed dicking around with the fork springs. I thought I had it propped up well enough until the forks dropped and down it went.

It's a sick feeling for sure.

Default A little Trick

Hey Hi all. Thought Id share what I do about the challenging center stand lift - in response to this thread. But I do make a disclaimer that this has to be mastered with a friend or someone else present when you try. You will notice in my pic the slightly raised plank of wood. The trick is find the balance. One hand on the steering other on the seat..roll her up the ramp, quickly place left foot down on centre stand, swap hand on steering to bar near under the seat press down on your left leg on center stand and lift all 262kgs of her with not much effort at all and less strain on your back.
