If I remeber rightthe connector(s) to the ECU are mechanically coded, i.e.they can only be pushed in so they are correctly connected.

Good the sprocketgot thru.Hopefully some fellow will take the pics you need. I don't have a 1KF here anymore and can't help with pics. There are som good picture (drawn) in the service manual that have been possible to download in this forum and was posted by member Trips from down under. It also includes a scematic and test procedures for connections to the Ignition Control Module. https://cbrforum.com/m_123412/tm.htm

Hi , took a picture of my cbr1000f -89 !
If you mean the "spark unit" as it's said in Haynes workshop manual then here you are(it's placed where you described).
Note. Not the best focus,my camera is not that good.

Hey R1000, what did you use to capture that screen image? It could come in handy sometimes.

The <PrnScn> key will capture the screen to the clipboard, then you can paste it to whatever you want.

Use the Microsoft XP PowerToys - Image resizer (from the Microsoft website) to resize the image to a smaller size, or you can use Microsoft Paint (comes with Windows); Corel Photopaint; Adobe Photoshopor one ofmany other imaging apps to resize or mess with the image.
