I'm new to the Hurricane too. Just had mine a few months. I can identify with where you might be. Aside from being extremely comfortable and killer in the looks department, I was interested in where it stacks up in the power department. This is what I have learned. It's only about 80 pounds heavier than the newer (butt ugly/insect looking) cutting edge sport bikes (and I've hung accessories weighing more than that on my past bikes). It's at least as reliable as the newest bikes are. Much more comfortable for just getting around in a sporty fashion (you sit more upright). But MOST IMPORTANTLY, from idle to about 8000 rpm (over 100 horsepower), it has essentially the same power curve as the newest and hottest machines. The new stuff revs higher and brings out those tremendous power numbers in the top 4 or 5K rpm. From my experience, I'm NEVER there. I almost never hit my 8K rpms, and when I do, the world is such a blur that I'm pretty glad at that point I can't twist out another 50 horses by pushing past my 10.5 redline. I'm good, but I'm just not quite THAT good. So all of the time I'm riding I have the same power on tap, easy to use and I'm more comfortable and better looking. What more could you ask?

Now that I think about it. I took the Two Bros. Exhaust (a SINGLE can) off to paint it. It was very light. I had the original owner ship me the stock exhaust, which I have since sold for about the cost of shipping (Doh!) and it was HEAVY. I wonder how much weight a new tec can saves over the stock system? It's probably a bunch, but since that is "low" weight, the weight loss makes the bike's center of gravity even higher.
