Default Carbs stuck. Any suggestions?

I am trying to pull the carbs to service them and after following the step by step procedure presented by the Haynes Manual (aka God), I still cannot remove the buggers from the engine block. There are no screws holding the clamps in place, in fact their all free spinning. I do not want to go and yank on them til something breaks, so I was asking the help of some pros because I certainly am not one.
Thanks
Ryan

Pour hot water onto the rubber until they start o soften, and gently pull outwards and upwards.[sm=bounceybounce.gif]

Or if you don't want to risk pouring water into your intake, try a heat gun or a hair dryer
A pry bar on the edge between the block and the intake to push them off works too. They are like the Chinese finger pulls. The harder you pull the tighter they get.

give it the old gentle aka 'dont break something flimsy and aluminum' give it the old screw driver treatment just make sure it looks ...sturdy where you pry....atleast you dont have cooling fins to worry about.

Thanks for the suggestions, I forgot about the old heat application, I have some issues with my RD and solved it with some heat. I just wasn't sure if the intake side of the block was considerably fragile.
Thanks again,
Ryan

Fragile? Come on now. Yank the bitch out, you're gonna need to replace the gaskets anyway.
