Default Carb Synch Tip

For those of you with the vacuum operated petcock...

I just synched the carbs on my 93 today and found I just was not fast enough to complete the task before the fuel in my carbs ran out. Ido nothave a mighty vac or any other appliance for applying vacuum to the petcock so I improvised. I applied suction to the end of the petcock vacuum line with my mouth (yuck) and held whileI clamped the hose closed with a small pair of vise grips. Viola! The vacuum in
the line held and I had all the time in the world (or until my tank ran dry) to complete the carb synch!
I used a Morgan Carb Tune Pro, which I just purchased, and must say it is a fine piece of equipment, highly recommended!

Posting new threads to this forum really sucks right now! It took me forever to piece together the post above. I had to type a little in and submit, then go back via the edit button and add a little more, over and over to get it all in. What's the deal???

Great idea TBT, but I don't have one of those either (yet). I just wanted to share how I got around the vacuum issue with no special tools at all, in case others are ever in the same situation.

I keep a golf tee in my toolbox just for this reason. I owned an Interceptor 500 for 80,000 miles, which included one replaced petcock diaphragm and another I was able to patch.
