I don't think you can go lower without fouling the plastics.
I think you may also find that the 1000r forks are 43mm whereas the 1000f forks are 41mm.

They`re actually bigger than that at the yokes as they`re 43mm at the stanchions, you can raise the rear by having the linkeage modified into an eccentric adjuster, mines been raised by 40mm and it makes one hell of a difference with no loss of stability at high speeds,I`d strongly reccomend uprating the forks and/or changing the fork oil to a heavier weight...I`ll try to get some pictures on later....It`s real easy too!!

OK, here is the deal... My 1000f was wrecked in front plastics, i change them for a cbr rr 04, and they came out good,i already change the back end to a cbr rr clone, so my only thing to acomplish is lower the handle bars depper than the gas tank level so this way i could stir with out hiting the plastic fairing.thanks for reply everybody!!![sm=shades.gif][sm=hiya.gif]

Can I get pics? My plastics are pretty much fubar and I don't like the idea of spending 1700$ at the stealership for new ones.

Are you sure? Mine are 41mm on my 89 F-K. Are yours 43mm? If so, then i'm presuming that from the linked brake model onwards they used 43mm.

Sorry!

I wasn`t very clear was I[&:]...I meant the 1000rr forks are bigger than 43mm at the yolks as they`re upside down forksMines a 1990 F-L and they`re definitely 41mm...sorry for any confusion!!
