I'm not sure.. sounds like an affordable solution right now... when I did my valve lash I tried to find any slack in the cam chain and couldn't.. on that note, is is necessary to remove the cams to get to the CCT?

at AUS$270, it may be affordable, but not desirable

well, what's the additional cost of doing the cam chain at the same time?, it's like 400 labour in it might be better to do both at once and not have to worry about it for a long time...

MarkR are I'm very curious what the Cam Chain replacement will run you. I'll probably need to do that very soon myself and would like to know what to expect for costs.

I may have the bike back before the weekend, I am hoping so as I am still suffering from Need-To-Ride-Bike syndrome.
As they will be adjusting the value clearance, carbies and choke problem at the same time, it may be difficult to report on the power/performance aspect of it, of course I will find out everything they have done to the bike.

i was wondering, especially on the 87-88 hurricanes,.. will it wheelie in first by just rolling on the throttle? or do you have to drop the clutch?... i am sitting upright on my bike, and needing to drop the clutch in order to be able to get it to lift the front tire,.. and that's only going to happen if i don't spin the rear.. I think that should be a decent guage of if my bike is making the power it should

Rx7Man, I have been able to wheelie her in 1st by slowly accelerating up to about 5000 rpm, I then roll off the throttle quickly punch it and she comes up. But i must say I can't consistently do this, it all depends on compressing and decompressing your front end, plus a full tank doesn't help. I know hopping the clutch will work better, but I still haven't figured that out yet and would like to work on that. I'm just scared that I'll hop it with to much rpm and go over[X(].

does it do any more than lift the front wheel 1" off the ground? I dunno.. maybe am ready to get a CBR 600RR or something a little snappier... already.. a handling issue I have is if i go around a long curve at about 80 MPH or so, when I really have to lean into it, the back end feels really unstable... it kinda feels like it's going in sideways circles, that the best i can describe it as... from what I cna tell there's no play in the swingarm or anything else loose, i have the preload fairly high, and I think the shock is set at 2 or 3, i'm fairly light.. is this the cause of it? it's sure not a pleasant feeling for sure... and hey, who wants to slow down??? lol

Tire pressure low or worn tire. Swingarm bearings worn or wheel bearings worn.

well, it's a metzler tire, I did notice it more when my tire pressure was low, but I inflated it to it's recommended pressure and it's still happening. the tire isn't close to the wear bar yet, there's no play in the wheel bearings, , and I can't detect any in the swingarm... this happens when I'm still nowhere near scraping the footpegs.. I thought frame flex, but I would have a hard time believing that the bike had THAT poor a frame
