Default C c t

New one arrived this morning from Dave silver so off I set, took about 3 hrs to fit also adjusted that fuel gauge so it now only reads empty when I have a gallon of fuel left, bike sounds loads better just need to adjust/ balance carbs, for anybody thinking of doing the cct themselves it really is easy to do and saves paying the bloke up the road a large fee.

How do I tell it's the only one I have ever seen, did have a lot of play in it though, you could move the arm about 8mm before feeling spring tension.

Older ones had a shorter plunger on the bottom, only about half an inch long.
New ones are about 1" or 25 mils or more

Tensioner was a new version and it's also on the second cam chain,
I think this could be a Friday afternoon at the factory bike

If I've learnt one thing - replace the camchain and the tensioner together.
I have the original camtensioner but my third (I think) camchain and it started rattling again a week later.
You may have alternator chain noise but I doubt it at that mileage.
Balancing the carbs may help if it's the cct/chain, or adjusting the balance arm.
My bike has just under 50,000 miles up.
