Default Brake pads

I need to replace front & rear pads. I know answer is in here somewhere but I've been thro about 150 pages and still not found it.
I have no idea what's in my "new" 1992 CBR1000F now, but know they need replacing and brake perfomance is average. I was thinking of going for carbon Lorraine SBK5 pads upfront and EBC organic at rear. Why - the CLs are reputed to give good perfomance with less disc wear and rear seldom used except at low speed.
Any views/recommendations or directions to them if already posted elsewhere would be appreciated.
Regards
Mike

I'd use the EBC pads, front and rear.
Brakes are a trade-off, some will give more braking effect but will wear your discs out sooner. If you want better brakes, replace your brake pipes up front with stainless ones - the difference is amazing.

You don't need new brake pads, they'll only slow you down.

I've just replaced the stock pads with EBCs and they're great. Good initial bite and very little fade.

EBC's (HH) here too both bikes

These pads benefit from the highest friction HH rating for maximum stopping power, made from sintered copper alloy like original pads for longer life and perfect braking under all riding conditions, wet, dry, hot or cold. When required, unique stainless steel radiator plates are fitted to reduce heat transer into bikes hydraulics. The unique double segment vented design keeps the pads cooler and prevents pad drag and overheat or fade.

Hi guys

For those using EBC brakes - what is your preference the FA189 of the FA189HH.

Cheers

Thanks for the tip on the EBC HH - I have now ordered them on Ebay.

Sorry to hijack the thread - but do I have to remove the caliper to replace pads?

Cheers

Only need to remove calipers for certain models I think - I'm told I don't for my 92 but the earlier models you did - but again I'm sorry don't know which.

I knew of EBC HH pads as suggested here by many but was interested in comments on the Carbon Lorraine Sintered Pads in my first post (no comments on them yet although I recollect from other threads a few use them) as they are reputed to be less aggressive in disc wear than the EBC HH which have a reputation for disc wear. There's no questioning the performance of the EBC pads as I had them on another bike but the comments on disc wear seem to be very widespread for them too
There's also some Brembo pads which are less aggressive than EBC HHs but they are expensive although I've misplaced the designation for them anyway.
So I still think I may go the carbon Lorraines at front and Organic EBC at rear but hope a few Carbon Lorraine users may comment before I go to the shop.
