Brake Fluid?
Also remember: the darker the colour of your fluid, the more moisture (water) is being retained by the brake fluid, and the less efficient it will be, and the more rust you will pick up in your braking system. It should be almost colourless, and +1 on the DOT4
here's a question , i was thinking like a turkey baster or something of the like to get the fluid out of the line or will it all come out when i bleed the lines. i wanted to get them as clean as possible , my front brake reserve is a dark color and i want it all out.
I use a small unit which has a non-return ball valve in it, attach to the nipple, open the nipple, and squeeze the clutch/brake, while keeping the reservoir full, and keep doing it until the fluid is clear.(the non return valve means you don't have to keep opening and closing the nipple, like when you bleed brakes normally) There are vacuum units which garages use which will suck the new fluid through quickly - maybe your local friendly garage owner has one ?
Only other option I know is
1 open the reservoir, drain all the dirty fluid out, and refill it with new stuff
2 Bleed the brakes as normal, remembering to close the bleed nipple every time before letting the clutch or brake lever out.
3 Continue until clean fluid comes out of the brake nipple.
(If you have twin hoses to the brakes, clamp one with visegrips, and do them one side at a time)
Hope this helps. Manual has all the details, too...
