Default Biggest back tyre

Need a new tire for the old girl. I want to go wider than stock. This will be on the factory rear wheel. What do you guys run ?

with a stock 3.5 inch rim. I think the 150 is as big as you can get.

Thanks thats what I have now. I just did a search and your right. I also read that going any bigger really upsets the handling. Thanks

i just went through that on my 88 as well. 150 is as big as you can go and keep it all stock at the same time

If memory serves me right Indiana Hurricane has "The Big Wheel" on the back with a
180 ........ correct me if I am wrong Indy !!

I believe your right there Sprock. I have also converted to the later wheel and a 180 tyre. I can honestly say that it has transformed the handling, with the larger tyre size you can fit more up to date sports tyres at better prices. It only took an hour to sort it and apart from the brake stay the rest is a straight bolt swap. You have to lose the rear hugger and fit the later chain guard or cut the guard section out of the hugger. Dont be scared it was so worth it.

Yeah theres some mods you have to do to get the wider rim back there. Sprock saw that I have no hugger, or chain gaurd.

so i can put a 180 on my 94? im 95% sure it has a 170 on it already..

Yes on a 94 you can put a 180 on there with no mods.

I have a 180 on my 90 model.........you'll find that the bike won't turn as quickly as it will with a 170 (my wife's old CB750 with a 140 turns really well) but it looks so gooooood with the fat back boot !!!
