Battery question
When I bought my CBR-F from the previous owner, the battery was new. I have only owned the bike for about 8 months. I keep it charged and keep the level right on. I have owned a Chinese junk battery and said I would not own one again. Here is my question.
The battery is labeled "Xtreme" and has no manufacturer listed on it and no "in service" date (that should tell me something about the manufacturer's pride - no name?!!!). Does anyone know who makes "Xtreme" motorcycle batteries? Why do I ask? Seems the thing is not taking a charge very easy now. Takes a long time for my tender to charge it up (sometimes 2 days), whereas, it use to charge to the green light in a matter of minutes.
If I lived the life like this battery, I would live to be 200... I mean it is treated well and is taken care of well. What gives? Do I now have my second Chinese junk battery? Thanks for the help brothers/sisters.
P.S. CBRclassic if you suggest to me to hook the battery up to my pace maker and watch **** to charge up the battery, it doesn' work! I already tried that!!!

The cold that you are experiencing will have a direct effect on your battery life - Chinese batteries here last about two years, but if used in our "high country" where it's a LOT colder (down to -10 to -12C at night) they don't last as long.
I can't help with the Xtreme brand, but they're all pretty much the same. We use Yuasa and others here - it's pretty much all we can get, although there's a local company (Sabat) now producing bike batteries - I've just fitted one to the wife's bike (Magenta CB750 Custom) so we'll see how it goes............
I'd be a basket case in your weather..................
Some Jack is called for...............it won't fix the battery, but you'll feel soooooo much better about it

Shadow, you know where my heart is. Although it is about lunch time here, I may just break a rule that some people have about a shot of Jack before lunch! I don't live by that rule....
Hey, I would like to post a picture or two. I am known as an old fart who is geekless in computer knowledge things. So, bare with me and have fun at my expense.
I have some photos that I scanned into my new computer (my old one I just replaced, which was a 1995 Windows version model -yes, old and stubborn aren't I!). The pictures are 670kbs large. The forum limits the size to 19.5kbs or so in size. I see some big pictures posted, so I know there is a way around this limit (Mo777's new picture is huge). How do I post my pictures that I scanned into my computer from my copier/scanner/fax/"Butler thong wearing" do all machine?
P.S. By the way, my mustache is as old as Imo000, so be gental with the "at my expense" part.

There are programs available (some free) that will allow to resize your pics. I use photoshop to do this (not free). What format are your scans in? One way to resize may be to open your scan in Windows Paint (under Programs-Acessories in Windows XP) then choose to save your pic as a .jpg image (.jpg up to 97 kb can be uploaded). I just did this with a .bmp image and reduced its size from 732 kb to 24 kb.

Photo re-size
Try this site out Nevada and its free
http://resize2mail.com/
Also these may help , though since the forum was changed they might not work . Steve ( CBR Classic ) seems to be the man to ask , he's always posting peoples piccies up . I'm like you a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to computers

Resizing pictures
I looked at my scan and it is a pdf file. So, the pictures are in pdf format whatever that means. I thought pdf files were just for text stuff.
Hawk, why you calling me an old dinosaur? Just because I live in the desert and my skin kind of is scalish because it is so dry out here, doesn't mean I'm an old dinosaur, well maybe I am - come to think of it - good point....
I got this printer/copier/scanner/fax/butler thong wearing machine and the HP company did not supply a book with it. It is an HP Officejet J6480 machine.
I'll give that site a shot and if it does not work, I will enlist the help of the "World famous Aussie" and a classic looking one at that! No CBRclassic, I did not call you a dinosaur, but my cousin said Sidney has some running around over there... Kathleen Shapona, know her?

Me call you a dinosaur?? Nah , must have been someone else entirely . Though you seem to like the same music I do , so that puts you over the hill and racing me to the bottom

PacoJoseph, I like the Joseph. My dad and mom liked it so much, they named me Joseph... I did as you said and scanned the pictures to paint as a jpeg. They went from 670kbs to 167kbs, but that is still too big. I guess the scanner is default set to pdf format.
Thanks for the manual Shadow. I will read it tomorrow. We'll figure this puppy out and get er right. You dudes need to see the rock fence I built this winter! 500,000 pounds of rock (140 yards of shank rock) stacked 4.5 feet high, 3 feet wide and 240 feet long. What else is there to do in the desert when the wind is howling and cold? Build a rock fence with a wheel barrow, two 5 gallon plastic paint buckets, a shovel, steel rake and 20 pair of leather gloves...
Racing me to the bottom Hawk? Nah, I'm in free fall mode so no matter what the ages are, I am falling like a lead brick! Yes, we do like the same music because when we were younger, the only musical instrument that was invented was a pair of wood spoons accompanied by an Oboa... No Shadow, placing one's hand under one's sweaty arm pit and making noises is not using a musical instrument!
Hopefully, I will get some pictures posted this weekend.
P.S. By the way Hawk, we both also have 1991 Hurricanes....
