Advance Auto has an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery (ETX15L) for our Hurricanes for $74.99. There's no picture for it but I would check the location of the terminals. I assume there's no overflow hose. Plus if you use the code "AG26" in the checkout, you get 20% off.

I think the best thing to check is the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) for each battery. Last week I got a regular battery for my Suzuki GS1000 from Advance Auto and it has 190 CCA. I think that most people who have trouble with a battery don't read the instructions or ignore the charging rate after the acid is put in.

The AGM battery for the Hurricane has 220 CCA. Regular batteries (sealed or not) and AGM batteries can use the same charger. Gel batteries on the other hand need a special charger.

'AGM batteries can use the same charger. Gel batteries on the other hand need a special charger.' Most half decent chargers do all types of battery nowadays, I always used Ctek chargers on boats, 4wd etc but were quite expensive but totally auto, the latest cheapy I got does all types but you have to tell it what kind of battery you are charging.

Well, I bit the bullet and purchased the battery off ebay. $36 delivered. When I got it, I put it on my trickle charger for two hours, then installed it. My bike had been sitting for 4 or 5 days, but it started up almost immediately after hitting the starter switch- quicker than I ever remember my bike starting before. So, right now, I'm happy with it. The question is, will I still be happy a year from now?

I cant speak for there batteries, but I would assume they are the same quality as the rest of their stuff.... I bought my first helmet from them and it was Junk. It was DOT approved so I guess it would still be safe, but some of the pads flew off while I was on the highway!! Very uncomfortable after that till I got my new ones. So I (like most seem to be saying) would not recommend anything from TMS. unless its you want to replace often. +1 to SPROCK[QUOTE]Good one year battery imo anything after that would be a bonus/QUOTE]

I'm thinking SlowPoke that these are one in the same

The AG26 code does not apply to these batteries with Advance
I tried it out to see

Despite all that they appear to be a very good quality battery
