Yikes, I really messed things up. Meant to post as Joker...guess a mod can delete the above post?

Got it hauled back to town and tore into it this evening. Thankfully it was just a hose that popped off of the 3-way ball joint (pretty sure it's the same one your guys are talking about). It was the hose that comes from the thermostat I believe--the one that runs all the way across the front of the engine.

It seemed that the hose clamp on that joint was not in an optimal position, as it was about a 1/4" back from the edge of the hose most of the way around. When we put it back on we got the clamp right on the edge of the hose so here's hoping that it holds for another 60,000 miles.

Rode it to work this morning (the long way, since the short way is only 2 miles) and she seemed to be running fine.

So the 3 way wassnt broken? Cause when I first got my cane I thought that the hose clamp was loose, since I had a small leak from there. Lil did I know that the 3 way was broken, and the peice was in the hose. The reason it was leaking was cause the hose kept sliding off due to the pressure in the coolent system. It was a clean break, so that is why I was able to fix it.

I don't think the 3way was broken. I guess the two hoses other than the one going to the radiator had what seemed like stop ridges inside them to keep the 3way from inserting into the hoses too far...it is plausible that those were actually pieces that broke off of the 3way.

Can someone confirm that there is supposed to be a stop ring inside those hoses?

There is a stop ring on the 3 way to prevent the hoses slipping off(like a bump). That is what was broken off on mine.

Hmm, so my 3 way probably is broken and the hoses are supposed to be straight through. I have ordered one and will put it on when it gets here. Hopefully that's before my 400 mile trip next weekend.
